How the FLIC System was developed
These ideas led to endless experimentation with different hardwoods, different contouring for maximum efficacy within the flute, ribbon slots and lengths, and cotton types for optimal absorption.
Over time, through tons of prototypes and trial-and-error, the combination developed that worked perfectly.
A smooth, fine-grained contoured and slotted hardwood wand paired with a white 100% cotton Ribbon-Swab that could reach the full internal length of the flute — including right up to the faceplate and wet corners in the Head Joint.
That solution became the FLIC (Full Length Instrument Cleaner): a simple, quick and effective tool that allows flautists to clean their flute between sessions without taking it apart.

Flute Care & Co exists to support flautists with tools that make instrument care simple, gentle, and effective — especially for those who play often and want their instrument to stay clean, dry, responsive and safely stored.
